Autotalo Sky Lounge – Conference center, Helsinki
The renovation of the top floor of the Autotalo in Helsinki was completed in autumn 2021, and the sky lounge, a conference centre with spectacular views over Helsinki, has risen to the site. Sky Lounge offers events for up to 40 people, from corporate parties to important negotiations and refreshing sauna evenings.
Lumir’s acoustic solution, Lumir Board (perforated gypsum board) and Lumir Comfort (acoustic sprayable coating) is installed in the ceiling of the Sky Lounge space, and acoustic surfaces can also be found in the entrance area. The Lumir acoustic coating has also been sprayed directly on one of the hard walls.
“On the roof top of Autotalo´s 13th floor, modern meeting and sauna facilities were built with the best views of the city to replace the old prohibited sauna facilities dating from the 80´s. Panoramic windows are overlooking the southern Helsinki and the roof´s stylish concrete beams are well highlighted with the new design. Extensive panoramic windows and impressive beams on the ceiling also set high standards for the roof surface, both visually and acoustically. These needs were best met by a seamless acoustic roof surface, which was implemented with Lumir’s acoustic roof. The end result was architecturally clear and finished spaces with stunning views without compromising any of the acoustics of the spaces”.
