Lahti City Hall, Lahti

In spring and summer 2023, Lumir sprayed an area of approximately 1,200 m2 for numerous work, conference and restaurant spaces. The renovation was carried out while preserving the initial architecture of the building.
Depending on the use of the space, we installed either Lumir Wool 40 mm (LW/glass wool) or Lumir Board (LB/perforated plaster board) as acoustic base material for the suspended ceilings.  Parts of the premises sprayed directly on top of the former surface, such as the diverse roof and wall structures on the top floor.
Sari Honkanen, Project Manager at Lahti Space Centre, said about Lumir:
“My own experience with your products has been positive, which is why I recommended it myself. The soundscape is pleasant when spoken in rooms with Lumir”.
Designed by Eliel Saarinen and completed in 1912, Lahti City Hall has been a community centre for its time, providing facilities for many of the city’s functions. In 2021, Lahti became the European Green Capital and Lumir has been a very good choice for several construction projects in Lahti due to its carbon-negative acoustic material.
