Welcome to join us for Habitare, The leading furniture, design and interiors event in the Nordic countries in 11-15 September 2024 at the Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre.
The theme of the 2024 Habitare is Layers. The theme treasures the layered and lived-in feel of homes, spaces and objects. It reminds us of the cyclicity of design, the revival of styles, and how the old and the new exist side by side every moment.
For Lumir, the theme suits us very well, as we have acoustically designed numerous culturally and historically significant buildings, such as the Parliament House, Finlandia Hall and several other Alvar Aalto sites, and most recently, e.g. the oldest continuously operating and now fully restored five-star hotel in Finland, NH Collection Grand Hansa (ex Seurahuone Socis). The Zeniitti Hall in the picture has been acoustically engineered by Lumir, which means that we have added a “new layer” to the space without changing the original architecture from over a hundred years ago.
